Our Ocean
Our Action

A Call for Smart, Concrete and Intuitive Action for a Sustainable Ocean.
The ocean is the source of all life, a repository of essential resources and energy vital for human survival, and a key space for global economic development. However, the health of the ocean has been severely damaged due to human overuse and development, leading to marine plastic waste pollution, marine ecosystem destruction, the depletion of fishery resources, climate change, an increase in marine disasters, and a decline in fishing communities. These issues are now threatening the survival of the entire humanity.

The Health of Our Oceans is Fundamental to a Healthy Planet and Prosperous Humanity.

The Ocean is a Space of Connection and Flow.
We must recognize the five oceans as a single, interconnected space.
It is necessary to engage in a robust restructuring of global ocean governance to ensure strong joint actions involving international organizations, leading and advanced middle-power maritime countries, businesses, non-governmental organizations, academia, and civil society.

The 10th Our Ocean Conference Will Share the Outcomes
of the Global Ocean Community’s Voluntary Commitments
Over the Past Decade and Discuss Ways to Promote Global Action
for a Sustainable Ocean in the Future.

Under the Slogan
“Our Ocean, Our Action,”
We Aim to Make Significant Progress in the Next Decade. Our Goal Is to Transition From a “Crisis Ocean” to a “Hopeful Ocean” Through Smart, Concrete, and Intuitive Governance Actions.
